Healing by Place by Lucia Tkáčová explores how the hospital environment – colours, shapes, light, and textiles – actively influences the healing process and the psychological well-being of both patients and medical staff.
As part of the project Na počkanie, she introduces artist-designed bed linen and visual interventions into the University Hospital in Trenčín, drawing on insights from neuroaesthetics about the effects of beauty on the human brain and body.
The project highlights the need for comfort and care in times of social uncertainty and views the hospital not only as a place of treatment, but also as a space of humanity and attentiveness.
