The Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture project is establishing a partnership with the football club AS Trenčín. The connection between culture and sport is taking on a concrete form directly on the pitch – our visual identity is becoming part of the players’ official jerseys.
As part of this collaboration, the Trenčín 2026 typeface has been implemented on the AS Trenčín kits – both the players’ numbers and their names are created using our custom-designed font. The jerseys are also complemented by an illustration of the city and the visual motif of the Trenčín 2026 project, naturally bringing the idea of the European Capital of Culture to thousands of fans in the stadium and watching live broadcasts.
“Cooperation with AS Trenčín is a natural step for us. The European Capital of Culture project is built on the idea of openness, connection and collaboration – and sport is an integral part of it. Football has an extraordinary ability to reach a broad audience. Through this partnership, we want to show that culture is not only about art, but also about values such as fair play, a healthy lifestyle, respect and solidarity, which are inseparable from sport,” says Stanislav Krajči, Director of Trenčín 2026.
Through this partnership, we are bringing culture directly into the sporting environment and demonstrating that the city’s identity, design and the values of the Trenčín 2026 project can become a natural part of everyday life – including the football stadium.
