After last year’s successful project Korzo Palackého, the Trenčín 2026 project in cooperation with the Trenčín on the Corridor initiative is going to return the busy street full of cars back to the people for one day. On Saturday 24 May 2025, Soblahovská Street will be transformed into a lively public space full of culture, local markets and community activities.

Korzo Soblahovská will offer visitors a varied programme including local markets with handicrafts and design, music and cultural performances, workshops, family activities and a gastronomic zone with offers from local operators. The event will take place from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a traffic closure of Soblahovská Street from Friday 23 May 19:00 pm to Saturday 24 May 00:00 pm.

Soblahovská Street is one of Trenčín’s key urban arteries, but today it primarily serves cars. Its proximity to the Dlhé Hony and Juh housing estates, community centers, and the marketplace makes it an ideal candidate to become a vibrant public space. With the upcoming revitalization of this area, we have a unique opportunity to showcase what Soblahovská and its surroundings can become when we prioritize people,” said project manager Hana Laššová.

Similarly to the previous project Korzo Palackého, which revived Palackého Street and showed its hidden potential, the aim this time is to open the street to people and offer them a space for meeting, entertainment and common activities.

Korzo Soblahovská is a part of the flagship project “City Transformed” within the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026. The event is co-organised by the Trenčín on the Corridor initiative. The organisers are also looking for volunteers who would like to take part in the implementation of the project.
