Official opening ceremony of Trenčín 2026 (by invitation only)
The official opening of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture will take place at Trenčín Castle with the participation of protocol guests. A live broadcast of the ceremonial event will be aired on STVR and screened on LED displays in the city centre.
Meeting with the Mayor of Trenčín: Welcome to Our City
On stage, the public will be welcomed by the Mayor of the city and the President of the TSK. Visitors can look forward to performances by children’s folklore ensembles, information points, refreshments, and small gifts from volunteers—such as handmade scarves, hats, and headbands.
Meeting with the Governor of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region: Welcome to the Heart of the Region
The President of the Trenčín Self-Governing Region will welcome folklore ensembles and guests from across the region in the heart of the Trenčín Region. An informal gathering in front of the TSK headquarters will become a symbolic gesture of regional support and the starting point of the ceremonial procession to St. Anne’s Square.
