A place that can grow.

Observe. Discover. Plant. Share.

An ecological workshop about places, plants, biodiversity, sharing, and small interventions that can transform our surroundings.

What should we pay attention to when we want to bring a part of the city back to life, create a flower bed, plant greenery, or transform a neglected site into a space full of life?

Join us for a practical ecological workshop at Bunky na Looke, where we will learn to see a place through a different lens. Together with Jannes Herman-Mostert, we will try out ECO SCAN directly on site – a simple way of reading and understanding a place we want to transform. We will observe both its possibilities and limitations: the soil, light, water, existing vegetation, surrounding environment, and other conditions that influence what can be planted there and how the space can function in the future.

And then we will get to work.

We will make our own seed balls. We will use some of them together directly on site to create the beginnings of a new meadow. You will also be able to take some home and try sowing them in your own surroundings.

There will also be a Seed Library, where you can bring your own seeds and exchange them for others. And if you have plants at home that have grown too large, cuttings, or young seedlings, bring them along for our Plant Swap.

Bring seeds. Bring plants. Bring your curiosity.

The event is open to the public, and organisations and communities working with people with disabilities or other disadvantages are also welcome. We want Bunky to be a place where everyone can not only observe and learn, but also create something, plant something, and leave a living trace behind.

Because bringing a place back to life does not always have to mean a large project. Sometimes it is enough to start by looking at it more closely. And then planting the first seed.

Accessibility

We aim to make the event accessible to as wide an audience as possible.

Access for people with limited mobility

The Bunky na Looke venue is currently more difficult to access for people with limited mobility. The route from the Municipal Indoor Swimming Pool leads along an uneven path.

During the event, organisers and volunteers will be on site and available to assist with arrival and moving around the venue if needed. If you know that you will need assistance upon arrival, you can contact us in advance at nikola.sedlackova@trencin2026.eu so that we can arrange suitable support.

If necessary, it is possible to arrive by car directly at Bunky na Looke. We will be happy to arrange the details of your arrival with you in advance.

For easier orientation, we have included a map showing the access routes to Bunky na Looke:

Access for people who are deaf or hard of hearing

Slovak Sign Language interpretation will be available during the workshop.

If you have any additional questions about accessibility or require support during your visit, please contact us in advance at: nikola.sedlackova@trencin2026.eu

The event is made possible thanks to the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Slovakia, which supports the exchange of experience and connections between Slovak and Dutch initiatives.
