The last FOLKLORE FIESTA of this year will bring a concert of the folk band MUZIČKA from Bratislava to Klub Lúč in Trenčín.
The band was formed in 1990 by a group of friends captivated by unstyled, authentic Slovak folklore. Thanks to their tireless enthusiasm, they became true pioneers in studying authentic recordings of Slovak folk singing and music, and in bringing these interpretations to the stage. The band’s spirited expression, passion, and energy have become Muzička’s signature traits.
The members of the band stood at the birth of folkloric events in Bratislava that significantly shaped the folklore movement while also making folklore more accessible to the wider public, such as the Evenings of Authentic Folklore or the Dance Houses. They have released several music albums, either independently or in collaboration with other folkloric ensembles. Muzička’s musicians truly enjoy entertaining people, and thus they can deliver an excellent concert for folklore connoisseurs as well as a great traditional folk party.
The long-standing lineup of the band consists of:
Tomáš Brunovský (violin), Laco Fekete (violin), Ivan Hanula (violin), Martin Brunovský (violin kontra), Mišo Brdársky (viola kontra), Peter Obuch (double bass, small bass).
After the band’s concert, the musical evening will continue with informal jamming. Bring your musical instruments!
This project is carried out with the support of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture and the City of Trenčín.
