Trenčín’s year of culture is reaching its grand finale. Join us from 27–29 November for City Fiesta, the closing weekend of the European Capital of Culture year. Celebrate with us the title that transformed Trenčín.
The city was awarded the European Capital of Culture title, but it was the people who brought it to life. Throughout the year, culture filled the streets, squares, venues and neighbourhoods, transforming Trenčín along the way. To mark this milestone, we will celebrate one last time in the way such a moment deserves: with a fiesta – a celebration that brings the whole city together in the streets.
Three days of events will stretch from Trenčín Castle to the city’s new landmark, the Fiesta Bridge, which will make its grand debut. There will be concerts ranging from classical music to DJ sets, theatre, readings, folklore, light art and activities for families with children. The highlight will be Saturday’s show, when we will hand over the title to the cities that will hold it in 2027: Évora in Portugal and Liepāja in Latvia.
And since City Fiesta coincides with the beginning of Advent, Trenčín will also come alive with Christmas markets, adding to the special atmosphere of the closing weekend.
