Do you have a story idea in your head but don’t know how to move forward? Come create with us! During this two-day course, we’ll explore how to develop an initial idea, work with characters, conflict, and transformation, and how to shape all of these elements into the foundations of a compelling story. We’ll also discuss how to overcome the fear of the blank page and so-called “writer’s block”.
The course combines theory with practice, and playfulness with conceptual thinking. It is intended for everyone who creates — or wants to start creating — in fields built around storytelling, including literature, journalism, marketing, and digital game design.
Under the Monokel brand, Peter Michalík has spent more than eight years creating, editing, and publishing illustrated books and comics. The storytelling course Invent! is the result of his effort to pass on the experience he has gained and to equip participants with a set of tools that will help them fully express their creative voice.
