The Polish string quartet NeoQuartet, known for its innovative approach to contemporary classical music, will bring to Trenčín a work by one of the most important American composers, Philip Glass. His String Quartet No. 2 (Company) was written in 1983 as incidental music for a stage adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s prose. The work’s four short movements create a captivating musical world of recurring motifs, hypnotic rhythms and subtle shifts in sound. NeoQuartet is one of Poland’s leading ensembles specialising in contemporary music and regularly performs at international festivals. The concert, set in the unique surroundings of a Baroque church, will offer an unusual combination of minimalist music and sacred architecture, inviting you to slow down for a moment and listen.
