Adam the World is a rapper and musician from Kremnica and one of the distinctive voices of the young Slovak music scene. His work blends hip-hop, alternative R&B, neo-soul and electronic music. His music is characterised by introspective lyrics, a melancholic atmosphere and experimentation with sound. He transforms personal themes, relationships and the search for his own identity into original tracks that defy traditional ideas of what rap should be.
Fobia Kid is a rapper from the Orava region who has established a strong position on the Slovak alternative hip-hop scene. His music combines trap, dark atmospheres, horror aesthetics and a raw rap delivery. His lyrics explore personal themes, social commentary and motifs from Slovak mythology. His work is characterised by a strong visual identity, unconventional musical approaches and an ability to create a distinctive, at times unsettling, musical world.
Prezident Lourajder is one of the most original figures in Slovak alternative hip-hop. Known for his signature balaclava and unmistakable delivery, the rapper draws on the old-school rap of the 1990s, enriching it with absurd humour, wordplay, irony and a critical view of society. Behind the project is musician and visual artist Mišo Ormos, who uses his work to create a distinctive world at the intersection of music, visual art and social satire.
Čavalenky, real name Rudolf Danihel, is a rapper from Holíč who offers an authentic perspective on life along the Slovak-Czech border. His trademark is rapping in the Záhorie dialect and socially engaged lyrics in which he speaks openly about poverty, addiction, injustice and life on the margins of society. His debut album Stoka rap attracted the attention of both music critics and audiences. His work is raw, direct and unvarnished – rap as a testimony to a reality that is often overlooked.
Marhule are an underground band from Nitra blending punk, rock, absurd humour and social satire. Their music is characterised by loud guitars, provocative lyrics, surrealist aesthetics and unrestrained live energy. Led by frontman Tomáš Billik, known as Bilbo, they create a distinctive musical world where punk rebellion meets black humour and absurd theatre. Their concerts are unpredictable, loud and definitely not for fans of musical compromise.
The Fresh Underground concerts will showcase just how diverse, bold and vibrant Slovakia’s contemporary alternative scene is.
