War and the suffering it brings are the subject of many folk songs. The human longing for an individual and collective future is reflected in the lyrics of traditional songs and in correspondence addressed to loved ones and to the wider public. These texts connect people across cultures, time and geography.

Richard Hronský and Boris Vitázek bring their artistic practices together – Richard’s script, part cipher and part record of emotions, seismographically describing his surroundings, and Boris Vitázek’s projection mapping, whose works often take the form of site-specific installations engaging with local contexts. Their collaboration creates a pan-folkloric space for reflecting on what connects the folk creativity of people living under oppression.

Richard Hronský, born 2002: A transdisciplinary artist whose interests range from visual art and experimental music to the collective organisation of DIY exhibitions and concerts. He plays the fujara and released the album Pohreb, which was nominated for the Radio_Head Awards 2025. Richard is an active and enthusiastic presence on the Bratislava scene. Alongside studying Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, he performs regularly in Slovakia and abroad. In his work, he recontextualises traditions and explores imagination and memory. He draws every day, often illustrates posters and enjoys archiving.

Boris Vitázek (born 1989, Slovakia) is an intermedia artist and creative technologist whose conceptual practice spans live performance, site-specific audiovisual installations, electronic sound design and community organising. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In his work, he explores the increasingly blurred boundaries between organic systems and synthetic environments, while addressing social issues within highly local contexts. Through creative coding and his own software frameworks, he transforms space and data.

Vitázek’s portfolio includes large-scale projection mapping in public spaces, interactive game-based art and experimental theatre scenography.
