The premiere of Michael Hollinger’s play Incorruptible (Zázrak) by the Trenčín Municipal Theatre will take place on 10 September 2026 at 6:30 p.m. at KKC Hviezda.
Welcome to Priseaux, France, in the year 1250! The monastery is in decline because its patron saint has not performed a miracle for thirteen years. But a one-eyed thieving comedian has a recipe for survival—so let’s hear it! And, after all, who here is truly incorruptible? A whirlwind of absurd situations unfolds, tickling the egos of the venerable brothers, but above all, your funny bone. Can the miracle everyone has been waiting for happen in a situation like this? The Middle Ages will never seem dark to you again, because they will be illuminated by a madcap comedy that will make you believe!
Incorruptible—the literal translation of the English word into Slovak is, among other things, “nepodplatiteľný” (“incorruptible” in the sense of being immune to bribery), while in the Christian context it refers to the “incorrupt body” of a saint. The Slovak translation of the play was created at the initiative of the Trenčín Municipal Theatre (MDTN). Following consultation with the playwright, we are presenting the play under the Slovak title Zázrak (Miracle), although both of the meanings mentioned above are relevant to the play.
The cast members Štefan Richtárech, Simon Kopunec, Juraj Budzovský, Adam Marenišťák, Martina Michalcová, Matej Struhár, Zuzana Mišáková, and Danica Jurčová, together with the entire creative and production team, are already looking forward to welcoming you. The team is led by the theatre’s director, Zuzana Mišáková, and stage director Michal Babiak, who is also a co-translator of the play. The production’s dramaturg and co-translator is Michaela Gallová. The set design is being created through an international collaboration between Silvia Barteková Ďurovcová and Ninjee Ochirbad. The music was composed by Diana Minarovičová. Costume design is by Daniela Vallová, Mária Hlucháňová, and the fashion brand Pánske obleky BANDI.
