PROGRAMME CHANGE! The La Nina (IT) concert has been cancelled. The replacement programme – a concert by Sendreiovci – will take place at the same time and venue.
An untamed musical concert that will shake any event to its foundations! The captivating and original Gypsy melodies of the Slovak band Sendreiovci will warm even the coldest heart. Sendreiovci will spice up this vibrant musical evening with a fiery blend of Balkan music, klezmer and folk.
Sendreiovci and the Gypsy Band are outstanding musicians and rank among the best-known Slovak bands playing Gypsy music. Their concerts are like a swimming pool in summer – packed with people eager to refresh themselves with catchy melodies. Sendreiovci, who have also collaborated with the band Para in the past, have performed extensively throughout Slovakia and have also made a name for themselves abroad.
They have performed all over the world – in Oslo, Berlin, New York, Bologna, Moscow, Budapest, Kraków, Ljubljana, Prague and London. Their natural talent even caught the attention of composer Hans Zimmer, and they recorded music with him for the Hollywood film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Vladimír and Janka Sendreiovci, together with their group, preserve authentic Gypsy folklore and pass this unique musical tradition down from generation to generation.
In London, Sendreiovci sang and performed on the red carpet alongside the film’s actors and leading stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Noomi Rapace, as well as director Guy Ritchie, Madonna’s former husband, and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer, entertaining guests at the London premiere of Sherlock Holmes 2: A Game of Shadows.
Janka Sendreiová was the only female singer from Slovakia to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.
