The Contemporary Castle project presents contemporary art by three artists from different parts of the world – Turkey, Japan, and Portugal – set within the historic space of Trenčín Castle.

The Japanese artist works with space and illusion, using transparent materials and gravity. His installations often balance between immateriality and physicality. These site-specific interventions create a unique visual experience within the historic environment.
➡ Carla Rebelo (PT)
The Portuguese visual artist focuses on themes of layers of memory and traces of history. In her installations, she combines textiles, photography, and materials shaped by lived spatial experience.
The exhibition project creates a dialogue between contemporary artistic thinking and the cultural memory of Trenčín Castle. We recommend attending the guided tour on Sunday at 10:00 for a deeper understanding of the works and their context.
