Younák
Younák is the first Slovak contemporary circus production that seamlessly combines acrobatics, physical theatre, humour, and live music. If you enjoy seeing tradition interpreted through a new language, this is exactly the kind of performance for you.
The performance blends humour, physical theatre, acrobatics, and live folk music in contemporary arrangements. Folk motifs and legends take on a playful form, inspired by stories of the iconic Slovak outlaw, but without a traditional retelling. Instead, it creates a world of images and metaphors, where old stories are transformed into a dynamic contemporary circus comedy.
The production was created with an international cast; Slovak performers include acrobats from the Trenčín parkour scene. An important element is a female band performing live folk music in original arrangements. The story is told without words, entirely through movement, acrobatic sequences, and visual scenography.
