You’re invited to an exceptional musical evening with the ensemble Ondro a kamaráti, bringing modern arrangements of folk songs from the award-winning album Pod obločkom to the Trenčín stage.
This concert is for all ages and will appeal to fans of folklore, world music, and genre fusions. The music, created at the intersection of tradition and the present, offers strong emotion, a personal message, and social resonance. In some songs, the author reflects on his family’s stories during World War II, adding a deeper layer that speaks to the need for freedom, human dignity, and resistance against injustice.
The project is led by musician Ondrej Druga, known from the band Katka a kamaráti (with Katarína Máliková), who has returned to an aesthetic blending folklore with chamber and film music. The result is a powerful and authentic concert experience.
Performers:
-
Ondrej Druga – accordion, piano, vocals
-
Marek Kľúčik – violin
-
Michaela Dobáková – violin, vocals
-
Juraj Súdi – viola
-
Michal Latinák – double bass, vocals
The musicians work with characteristic elements of songs from specific regions – Horehronie, Pohronie, and Vojvodina – drawing from archives and testimonies of tradition bearers.
The World Music Fusion project is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín Self-Governing Region, and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The project’s partner is the European Union.
Photos and video recordings will be taken at the event and may be published later.
