Photomonday

Fotopondelok/Photomonday was established in 2016 as a program of the Slovak National Gallery, prepared by Veronika Marek Markovičová and Peter Marek. Once a month at the SNG and occasionally at the M. A. Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín, a live meeting of a photography-loving audience and renowned authors from Slovakia and abroad took place. Over the years, more than 100 authors have presented their work at the event. Now, thanks to cooperation with KKC Hviezda and support from Trenčín 2026, the program has moved to Trenčín.

On September 22 at 6 p.m. at KKC Hviezda, with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bratislava, we will introduce two guests – Dino Rekanović, photographer and director of the Rotlicht festival in Vienna, and curator Thomas Licek.

Rotlicht, which has established itself as one of the leading festivals of contemporary analog photography, will celebrate its 5th anniversary in 2025. The founder and director of the festival, Dino Rekanović, will introduce the festival and reflect on the challenges of implementing such an ambitious cultural and artistic project.

Thomas Licek, chairman of Reflektor (an international platform for self-published photography books), will present current publications by Austrian photographers and visual artists.

Guests: Dino Rekanović, Thomas Licek

Moderators: Veronika Marek Markovičová and Peter Marek

The event will be held in English, streamed live and recorded.

Admission is free.

We look forward to seeing you there!

This project is implemented thanks to the support of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026 and the City of Trenčín.
