The final Sunday of Advent will be dedicated to slowing down, shared stories, ornament-making, music, and cakes that you bring to the communal table. There is warmth in community – and we want to feel as much of it as possible. Danka will prepare original decorations, and once again you’ll be able to take home fragrant, natural Christmas spirit from Trenčín. Marianna will capture the moments, which will be available in an online gallery.
At the event, you will also find a space for letters to Baby Jesus and a poster with the story of the family we have chosen to support this year.
Programme for 21 December – Put on a Wool Coat and Share a Cake:
14:00 – The Story of a Tree That Became a Christmas Tree
We will begin with a story about a tree that gets a second chance to shine – and you will be the ones to give it new life.
14:30 – 15:30 – Workshop:
Two ornaments – one for your home Christmas tree, and the other for a “tree that is not in the best condition,” which we will decorate and light up together.
16:00 – Reading with Dominika Šikulincová
The author will read from her book, while her own illustrations will be projected on the screen.
16:30 – Concert by Trio Amabile (Christmas jazz)
Trio Amabile will create a gentle, festive atmosphere with a concert lasting 20–40 minutes.
after 17:00 – A Shared Song and Tree Lighting
We will light up the decorated tree with a song sung together.
17:20 – Winter Cinema and Free Programme
We will screen a selection of fairy tales thematically connected to the workshop.
Throughout the event:
– a community table for sharing cakes,
– an exhibition featuring the story of the family we will support,
– a mailbox for letters to Baby Jesus,
– digital photography – the photographer will take a digital snapshot you can take home for free. A link to all photos will be published on our website. You will also find it on-site in printed form, or you may request it directly from the photographer.
