The Trenčín Literary Festival continues with author readings perfect for a morning coffee—and for awakening curiosity. Contemporary Slovak poets and prose writers will be reading.

An author reading from books full of playful inventiveness that subtly expand children’s understanding of the world. Stories told through the eyes of a child who looks at the world with curiosity and wide-open eyes.
The program is intended primarily for families with children up to 12 years of age.

An author reading from a historical story about friendship, courage, and the search for identity. The novel faithfully portrays the lives of Slovak immigrants in Pittsburgh during the Spanish flu and the great steel strike, when they stood up for their community and its rights.

A native of Trenčín who used to say he was born at the wrong time to the wrong parents, he left behind an extensive literary body of work filled with intelligent and empathetic humor. The texts are read by another Trenčín native—a prominent figure of the alternative cultural scene and civic activism.
The event will take place exclusively in the café located in the lower premises of the Executioner’s House.
